    Another C class thread

http://www.tonydmxschool.com/ Tony is one of the best racers from the mid to late 70s. My son, who mostly rode Suzuki, went to a couple of Tony's schools which used to be free when you bought a new Suzuki bike. Dan, my son, ended up working as an instructor at about 10 of the schools. And as...

We probably put Renthal bars on it too! Come to think of it. Even Tony D said stock bars were a joke!

Always amazed that the first thing most people want is aftermarket pipe or exhaust...more power, have to have more power! Good tires is probably one thing many less experienced riders put off, yet they are what gets the power to the ground and help you control and brake the bike. Last bike I got...

    Another C class thread

Tony D used to tell me that he believed the bikes were getting so good that very very few riders could even ride a factory stock bike to its full potential. Certainly it is something to think about. All I can really say to this is the old " Follow the Money ". The promotors want and need it...

Agree with the mod comment. What is even more amazing is what is considered to be a modification!

    RC 's LL Bike

You only made one mistake in this sport from that statement...you decided to start racing without a LARGE fortune in order to come out of it with a smll fortune!

    Props to Steel City Regional

I am assuming the Coombs family is still running the Steel City Regional, but have not been into the LL stuff for a few years. If so, Davy Coombs is DC@mxsports.com. Not sure if his mom is still runing hings or not either.

06’ KX450F Front Master Cylinder Question

Rebuild kit. Believe we had this happen in the past and it dislodged some internal o rings or seals IIRC. Think we just took it apart, cleaned and reassembled and it was OK.

    Injury Update

Glad she is going to be OK and recovering. As to whether it is worth it I guess I say you have to live your life. You can die for any number of stupid reasons and not of your own fault any time. We have all seen it happen unfortunately. So I say live your life, no one gets out alive! To...

    250f vs 125

Perhaps this raises another issue of 2 vs 4 stroke bikes; does the 4 stroke make riders lazy and less aggressive riders because they dont have to work as hard to maintain momentium and ride in the power band like you need to on a 4 stroke? My son came up 85 to 125 to 250 all two stroke before I...

    Benefits of Being a Pro?

Don't you just love it when they don't even know or interpret their own rules the same. The rules should be written simply and clearly so anyone can understand them. Not in lawyer-eze that they even have a hard time getting correct.

    Benefits of Being a Pro?

Money, or a high cost of entry or participation, is an excellent method of controlling an enterprise and preventing others from competing against your enterprise. No one goes out and starts an airplane company today because the cost is too large, but 75 years ago there were many airplane...

    Benefits of Being a Pro?

The problem is with that type of protest there is no way to make it work. The riders would not likely stick together because in the end people tend to do what is in their own best interest. Besides there would be 25 other willing guys who would likely jump at the chance to run in a Mational...

    250f vs 125

First, are you sure they are 125s and not punched out to 147 or something? IIRC Ryan Dungy had one of the fastest lap times at Redbud LL Regional a few yers ago on his 125. Fast dudes can just go fast. That said, i would think a stock 125 would be outperformed by a stock 250f for most...

Rider height and bike set up....?

Tony D is reasonably tall, but he raced before they had suspension!!! Tony was always talking about Travis' big feet and how he had Suzuki make him special extended shift and rear brake levers. Tony teased my son Dan about big feet like Travis, but it never seemed to cause him a problem...
