    Best tracks in Ohio?

Dirtworld, Scenic Highlands, Area 330, Spring Valley, and Broken Spokes would be my top picks

It is that time of the year: Official LL Amateur National Roster is released

Yup 9:30 Friday morning we are done. Hell if I play my cards right, I can make it back to work for some Saturday overtime to really check off the working mans class theory.

We were first moto in 2019 as well. Definitely cool to put the first ruts in the grass. Also makes for a short week. I did learn one thing about being the first moto, show up 30 minutes early or you’ll miss your gate pick.

It is that time of the year: Official LL Amateur National Roster is released

Thats a goofy one, id be pissed if last place got in if you go down there you will NOT get your facility fee($400) back, which is the bulk of the price. You will however get your class fee($150) back if not selected as an alternate(top 10 alternates get to practice, you will still be refunded...

It is that time of the year: Official LL Amateur National Roster is released

Essentially Top 6 make it, top 4 on the west coast. Also quite a few people qualify in more than one region, so that opens up extra spots for the next riders in line(based on power ranking). Your power ranking is essentially the number of racers in your regional class divided by your finish...

    Tire reviews on Ohio soil

If you have the 2.15 rim 110, 1.85 rim I’d keep the 100 on. I don’t race 250s anymore though and they’ve never been my focus. Hell I run 110s on my 450 a lot, but that depends on how rutty the track will be or just the deal I find.

    Millville, scoop or MX33

Haven’t been to Millville, but I’ve researched it a bit and the Dunlop mx12 would be my pick to roll up there with. It’s been re-designed to bridge the gap from sand into soft terrain. And most likely hold up into harder parts of the track. So if you were to choose a “scoop” tire I’d consider...

    Tire reviews on Ohio soil

I’ll say it depends on the bike a bit for me. I can get by with whatever on a 250, but a 450 I really have to pay attention to what I’m mounting up when balancing torque and traction quite a bit more. I’m a Dunlop nut, but I really believe in the geomax design for durability and longevity, and...

Battle race .... lets poke the bear.

So since you’ve found the ideas you like we can move forward on those? Awesome. I had my actual reasoning for why I am not attending these races this year but that must’ve been incorrect. My bad. Carry on

Battle race .... lets poke the bear.

Yeah just twist everyone’s words and reasoning for not racing select events around. Nobody’s asking for free stuff, or free tires, but some of us do weigh out our wallets when deciding which races to attend and wonder if the juice is gonna be worth the squeeze. Sometimes a $20 practice day...

Battle race .... lets poke the bear.

Regionals are definitely pulling a bit from the battle series. Ktm contingency is gone from the series, that was HUGE in years past. PVR is goofy to have in the series. And that track could be 3x as cool without that concrete start. I won’t even race there unless it’s a regional or pro/am...

Battle race .... lets poke the bear.

This weighed on me as well. KTM had awesome contingency for the battle races in years past, and that wasn’t secured for this year. Definitely a good piece of the puzzle.

Battle race .... lets poke the bear.

I usually try to make the battle series races, but I went to PVR this past weekend, and I have a regional during Briars battle. That’ll void me out of caring about the series this year. No excuses here, just too many options, as in the point of this thread.

Pro/Ams in Ohio? Where’d ya go

Good to know. I was wondering why that one was gone, always a fun event!

Pro/Ams in Ohio? Where’d ya go

Drove 8.5 hours to this Pro/am in Virginia this past weekend. I was scratching my head quite a bit over the weekend thinking about all the great tracks we have that can put on a better event. The Lake County Fair being one of them. Regardless it was a track to race and I appreciated that. I know...

Pro/Ams in Ohio? Where’d ya go

Gotcha, thank you for the response. I just saw it as a missed opportunity, but if it doesn’t financially make sense and ends up costing the promoter even more I can understand why our tracks are no longer trying to secure a round on the schedule. I do know a few guys appreciate them, but they...
