Anyone here ever lowered an MX bike before?

Sharc-- That's not your JWRP bike is it? Gorgeous!! That KTM Doesn't look horrible, but I wouldn't want to take a quarter of the suspension stroke. Seems like it'd do something strange handling wise. I'd do an inch of suspension, and the rest with linkage and sliding the fork tubes up in the...

So you want to get rich owning a motocross track

I'm a lazy ass taxi driver who only rides kids trail bikes on pit bike tracks these days..... and I didn't mention that I don't like to wake up before noon.... BUT!!! If I WERE going to try and get rich doing an MX track-- I'd do it right! I'd give the riders what they want! Forget BUILDING a...

Anyone here ever lowered an MX bike before?

Damn! Looks like there are a few riders besides me that aren't exactly thoroughbreds? That KTM150 is definitely a bike I'd be interested in. is the engine the same in the XC as the MX bike? I was thinking that Care Tech had the most experience with lowering because I was thinking that they'd...

Anyone here ever lowered an MX bike before?

Funny you should say. I used to bring a crate to the starting gate when I used to race!! --L*64

Anyone here ever lowered an MX bike before?

Try and get a pic of tour dad's bike from the side and post it up. I want to see how it looks. If the suspension has 12 inches of travel, then we're only talking about 8% down in the stroke if I take an inch out at both ends. Should be OK. Looking to take another inch with slightly smaller...

Anyone here ever lowered an MX bike before?

Yep, Tech Care. I THINK the 20 inch front is more common in Europe, and I haven't inquired about the 18 inch rear yet, but I know the KTM Free Ride uses one. I think PR2 can do a dog bone link 5-10 mm longer which would lower the rear an inch, and I could compensate by moving the fork tubes up...

Anyone here ever lowered an MX bike before?

What's up gang! If you know me, then you KNOW why I'm asking this question! Hahaha! Yep-- I'm only 5'5 with a 30 inch inseam! I generally love thrashing on play bikes, but I raced at Meadowlarks a few weeks ago, and I really liked the track. I've been tossing around the idea of becoming a member...

4 stroke play bike head porting?

Looking to get a clean up port job on a CRF150F head. Wasn't planning to run race gas, a high comp piston or cam. I'm just looking to get a slight improvement along the torque/power curve and better throttle response with a port and pipe. I've seen guys port their heads before and the work...

Shirt and/or jersey lettering? Close to Medina?

Who does GOOD lettering on shirts and jerseys? I'd like a selection of fonts to choose from too. I've seen lettering done before that looks like a '70's little league job. trying to avoid that-- definitely picky. I'm near Medina, OH. --L*64

    Cleveland CycleWerks?

Yep. Chinese. That Scrambler thingy is super cool though. I remember seeing a 150 or 230F Scrambler looking bike a long time ago. I really like cool and inexpensive small bores myself. Suzuki has some kind of unimpressive 250, and Yamaha makes a similar 400. seen some super cool Scrambler and...

    MX Track Preferences

Damn! Ted S.? I used to love Splitrail. I don't ride, but if I did-- i'd love elevation changes, options, fun rhythm sections.... singles to tables.... Put a triple in that only good riders can do, and the sucky-er riders can double through. It's not easy to make everybody happy, but that triple...

Where ya getting OEM Part numbers?

I was always on the Service Honda site fetching OEM part numbers, and sometimes ordered parts from them. Now that they went limp, where are you guys getting your OEM part numbers from? Lotta places use their own, like Partzilla for example. --L*64

Cleveland Motocross Track is a go!!

This should be verrrrry interesting!!! I'm looking to change jobs, wonder if anyone would hire me as private security while they ride? I'm only 5'4, but I'll carry a gang of chains and locks that you can rent by the hour! Could double as a weapon? Maybe even private transport from Kinsman to the...

Damn Bruce! That's awesome! He must be out and back ridin'? We make mistakes, take our lumps, then get back in the game. That's a success story in my book! --L*64

People ask why I keep riding, especially at my age

I HATE it when people make it seem like riding dirt bikes is a silly phase that young men will sometimes go through, grow out of, then eventually will do something productive.... like getting married, golf, die.... I've never been, but I've heard that married will inflict more pain and injury...

Let's hear about your on track MX fights! Hahaha!

So Mr. Luckystar woke up on the wrong side of the bed this afternoon as I always do if it's before noon... Wanted to hear about your on track, "tackle 'em off the bike" fight incidents! Gotta be some funny stories here- no? I'm pretty chill, but I HAVE had my share of on track fights before...
