Hey Mark - how long have you been running the '84 RM? I've picked up '82 & '84 RM250's as "buried-in-the-barn" winter projects. Rough, but salvageable and because I raced these RM's new back in the '80's there's a lot of great memories associated!

The cleaner I linked to on Amazon is a 7 liter and the basket is 12x6x6 so that's getting close! I'll have to do some measuring on my RM250 engine cases and see if that'll do it...

Thanks for the update John! I was going to head down to Harbor Freight but now that you say bigger would be better - found a few on amazon...

John - what make is the cleaner you have and from where? I've just picked up a 2nd 80's RM 250 for winter rebuilding and that looks like the way to go for some of the work I've got ahead of me!

Hi Dan - I have a couple of buddies in the "knee business" and a fairly new treatment method to help with healing and pain is amniotic fluid injection. None of the side effects of steroidal injections and I see a lot of positive reports - something to ask them about at your next appointment...

Agree with John - Open C might be "scary" but Open B would be OK... I like Jeremy's pot-stirring though - get everybody fired up pre-banquet!

Guys - what's the story with mid-90's RM 250 engines? I read something about power valve problems...is there any particular year to steer clear of? I've got my '82 project for nostalgic reasons but looking for something more competitive to do some vintage racing. Are the '96's ok?

Now THAT is inspiration! Just like model-building as a little tyke, it is so awesome to be able to take what you always wanted (or had "back in the day") and re-create it right before your eyes - I love it! And now with vintage racing, we can all go out and actually race the damn things again!

Well that's good to know about what cable works correctly so I wont waste time experimenting. Because of the cracked case, I'm going to go ahead and replace all the bearings on re-assembly and hopefully I won't have any motor issues next year! Any other issues from your experience with that bike...

So how did you resolve the cable issue? Did you stick with the MotionPro? I need to replace all the cables on this project, along with most everything else. This thing's rough and I discovered the right side case is broken where the bolt goes through on the bottom. Time to hit ebay...

Hey Steve - what did you use to polish the cases and swingarm? What do you have for a sandblaster that works so well?
