    Oma gp

We're going to try the Malvern GP on the '81 KX250. I'm thinking about going to Beans to check it out. They sound like they're all kinds of fun. I haven't taken the MX apart yet to see what broke at VMD, otherwise that would have probably been the weapon of choice. Kevin

anybody in the zanesville area, heres a auction with old dirtbikes

Here's a different perspective on the guy who collected all the stuff as told by someone who knew him. He gave me permission to repost it here. I thought it was interesting. Figured word of this would be on here, and had to check. I'll be there, hoping to buy an old basketcase sportster to...

The GP races look interesting and I see there's one at Malvern. How's it work? Are they 50 minute Motos? Are they raced on the regular tracks or is it a longer layout? Kevin

Way too much fun! I'm whipped. The rain sucked but we still had a great time. Nice to meet you, Mike, and it was good seeing you and Maguire, Dave. It wasn't too good having a mega drunk and annoying fat guy for a neighbor a couple nights. He did the right thing and left real early Saturday...

It was real effing muddy. They postponed practice until 12:30 so they could sort of reroute the track and then only ran one moto. So we finished early. We ended up breaking on the last lap and DNF'd, what a pisser.

A guy in California built it for me. His name is Doug Childress and his email is CR250R@aol.com Tell him Kevin Harper sent you. Doug is a really good guy but he's busy as hell, so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time. It took 4 months and change to get it. He built the silencer I have on...

And yes, you'll be able to get a toy hauler in Friday evening, no problem.

    Vintage Shocks.....Experiences and Opinions please!

Yes, that's right. That's why Works and others want to know your weight, skill and use. What I was saying is the shock, not the spring, should control the compression and rebound. The spring still has to be right and it's the easiest part. Everything still has to be set up together for them to...

    Vintage Shocks.....Experiences and Opinions please!

Here's what I know and it ain't much. You want the compression and rebound to be controlled by the shock and not the spring. You want the spring to be just stiff enough to hold the bike up with your weight on it. Too stiff of a spring will cause the rear to kick up, overcoming the rebound on the...

I got there Thursday around noon last year and they let me right in, no problem. I went in the main gate. If you ask, though, they'll tell you they won't let you in until Friday morning. I'm planning on being there Thursday morning. Motorhome is about done, get some propane tomorrow, finish...

Ok, this is from the Yamaha parts fliche. The shock part number is 363-22210-75-00 and is called out for all 73-74 MX250/360 and SC500. I use boats.net to search/research parts, once you get to the diagrams and find the part you're looking for a click on the part number will show all the models...

I was hoping you went with the Works shocks if you were going to buy so you could tell me if they were worth it or not. The shocks on my bike were a rusty mess so I can't compare them to the Redwings. They're going to be much better than blown stockers, for sure. I'm pretty sure the frames and...

    Reunited After 31 Years

I'd say the odds are pretty damn long. You might want to put a buck or two on the Super Lotto. That's really an awesome find. Kevin

    Reunited After 31 Years

Great find. Were you actively searching for your old bike or just looking at YZs of that vintage? I'd love to find my '76 RM. I sold it to a seven foot tall Mennonite kid from Dalton or Charm or someplace like that. It probably ended up powering a grain elevator or something. Kevin

Thanks. I still have that damn tub of parts I got from you a couple years ago. It moved from your garage to mine :) I can't bring myself to get rid of it and we have used a couple pieces out of it.

No problem, Dave. You have to take the MX for a spin this year. It's a lot different, but let me warn you now, it's a boat load of addicting fun. It's stupid fast for the suspension and brakes it has, but holy s**t is it fun. I thought the wife was going to stroke out, Dustin and I totally...
