85cc Project needed for Wiseco and ProX

We are looking to find a current model (2003 and up) 85cc YZ, RM, KX, or CR for a display project. Bike does not have to be running, but in decent enough condition that we can turn this into a display vehicle for some product promotion. Our budget for the bike is under $600 (so non-running is...

    Detonation and the Death Rattle

Something to watch out for, as we head out into the snow and possibly have our summer jetting still in the bike...it is known to happen on cold days, lots of load, and low octane or questionable jetting...

Shouting at a brick wall (The price of bikes)

I think all of us riding and racing parents have been faced with this scenario, and it just makes me wish for more affordable riding in general. For this reason alone, I have metriculated back to the two stroke and have been happy since. Just picked up a brand new 2002 RM250 for a great price...

FMF on "How it's Made" show

No worries John, just like to get the word out! Looking forward to seeing the exhaust version, and how they get the welds so perfect every time with so many shapes. How It's Made rocks, they should start at the front of the bike and work their way to the chain adjusters, I would be glued to the...

FMF on "How it's Made" show

Great show for sure - Not looking to highjack this thread, this was done in season 7 at a local northeast Ohio manufacturing facility... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwBRi2Pjluk&feature=player_embedded

Wiseco - GYTR - Hinson Replacement Clutch Covers

Things to look for in a cover are both strength and how the material is treated. Most billet machined covers will provide better strength over the cast magnesium or aluminum materials, to protect against rock punctures or damage. Once formed, the billet cover should be hard coat anodized for...

    Check your ring end gap

Mike your absolutely right! Except I cannot find "just enough" on my feeler gauge...it must be between barely enough and way too much!

    Check your ring end gap

Hi folks - Another question that we get a lot here at Wiseco is ring end gap. What should it measure? Why should I check it? All good questions, so a little knowledge goes a long way. Here is a link to our post on FB regarding how and why, and what to look for...

    Clutch Basket install

That works well to Johnny, anything to prevent the screws backing out. We apply a threadlocker, but that is not enough by itself. The peening, either at the bolt center or edge, assures the bolt cannot move. Great tip!

    Clutch Basket install

Keep your hands and feet clear! That will work too John, just approach things carefully! I saw someone nip the end of their shoe off that way...and it wasn't me...

    Clutch Basket install

Hi everyone, we often get asked how to install a new aftermarket clutch basket. This link walks you through a typical install, in this case a 2006 KX250, so you know what to expect. More importantly, the installation is not overly difficult and can be tackled by most any home mechanic using some...

    Namura Piston Kits

I agree hershey, PR is a great forum and helps get the word out! I have talked to racers from other parts of the country (as far as Cali) and they all know about the site, gives you an idea of the reach. I always say, it is a small world when you start talking dirt bikes! Thanks everyone for...

    Namura Piston Kits

Hello everyone - I would like to jump in and provide some factual information to help anyone looking to make a piston choice. The advantages of forged aluminum are greater strength, ductility (which means the material will bend before it breaks), feature aligned grain structure, and resistance...

Wiseco looking for 2004-2009 CRF250R engine only

Hi everyone - We are working on a marketing engine stand project, and in need of a late model CRF250R engine only. The engine does not need to be running, we will build up any missing / broken parts if needed. We need a whole engine (crankcases, cylinder, head, engine covers), but any internal...

    1985 CR250 wins 250B moto at regional

This is awesome to see, racing for himself and isn't caught up in the "state of the art" needs. MX needs more of this to survive, the costs are spinning out of control for the average person. Good to see someone that recognizises this is a fun sport no matter what you ride! Kudo's!
