Obama says they're sending an air craft carrier and destroyer over to help out the Japanese people.
Why didn't Japan send a destroyer over during Katrina??? But that's not as important as throwing a bill tab with the help going to Japan. WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR DISASTER??? Japan should pay us for any help they recieve, and America shouldn't just send over help, let the Japanese ask if they can't handle it.
We have local and statewide budget crises going on all over the US, yet it's ok to blow $100,000 to fire up the engine in a destroyer and additionally blow millions upon millions to make headway towards Japan. Gas Prices are high enough, why suck up more with this.
For all the help we give to the world we shouldn't be paying a nickel a gallon for oil.

Helping all the countries the way we do is one of the reasons we have paid so little for fuel compared to the rest of the world for so long. Look at the prices of gasoline in europe, at least double ours.
Helping other countries is one of the reasons we are looked up to by so many in the world, it is part of being a superpower. It is part of why our trillions of dollars debt hasnt been called due. We receive many benefits for our help contrary to many peoples belief !!!!
