I'm getting my learning on Mikuni carburetors.
Studying info about my carb on my MX250, thinking I would be rebuilding it and the only kits I'm seeing are on ebay, and then I see new carburetors selling for the price of rebuild kits?
I've always done my own carburetor work, but never really knew how they are sized and spec'd for bikes. Looks like the Mikuni type VM is the common unit for many older bikes, just varying in bore size.
How do you guys usually handle your carb issues when rebuilding older bikes?
Are there rebuild kits out there available that costs less than a new carb?
Been told I can run a larger bore carb on my bike, and I do have one I picked up off ebay a year ago that is larger (a 35mm), it would be nice to rebuild my original 30mm and rebuild the 35mm as well that way I could run both and see how they perform.
