Drive shaft oil seal

Hey I have a 1998 cr125 and there is a slight oil leak coming from behind the front sprocket. I am pretty sure that it is the drive shaft seal. What would be the best way to put a new seal in? Would I need to take the engine out or is this something I could just pry out and hammer a new one in? Below is a diagram of the part, number 23. Thanks.

You can do it with motor installed.

There is also a sleeve that goes over the countershaft with o-rings behind it. You'll want to replace that oring as well. Some bikes have two.

All Balls Racing makes a countershaft seal kit that includes the seal, oring, and bushing.

Drill two small holes into the seal, opposite of each other. Then, run a long drywall screw into the holes. Grab the screws with pliers and pull the seal out. To reinstall, put the seal in the freezer for a while before installing. Coat the O.D. of the seal with some lube, use a deep well socket the same O.D. or slightly smaller and keep it square to the seal and tap it into place.
