The all racing complete in the old D-11, it is time to look at the facts and hopefully the promoters of those tracks use this when planning for 2015.

Dirt Country = 876 entries = 219 per
DMC = 766 entries = 191.5 per

30+A – 24 entries (DC-11, DMC-7, COCR-4, TC-2) = 1.5 per race. 8 different riders with an average of 3 races per rider.
250 A – 19 entries (DMC-8, COCR and DC 5 each, TC-1) = 1.187 per race. 12 different riders with an average of 1.583 races per rider.
So looking at the numbers it is plain to see some classes need to be eliminated or at least restructured. So if you combine ALL the "A" classes into 1, Combine the 14 to 24 and the 25+ into a 14+ class and divide the 65's into jr. and sr. you are left with 21 classes.
The numbers would also justify combining the 2 "B" classes into one which would leave us with 20 classes.
The 80 extra class must be run with the Supermini. So now you have 19 gate drops per moto. Times 12 min moto's = 456 minuets + 30 min intermission is 486 / 60 min = 8 hours and 6 min.
Start racing at 10 and everyone is finished by 6:15
For sure looks like a classic case of the squeaky wheel got the grease. All the "adults" complaining about getting their own class and the promoters gave in and then the riders DID NOT show up.
Growth appears to be nonexistent from 162.176 per race in 2012 to 163.5 in 2014. That is slightly less then 1% growth.
With all the facts in front of you, it looks to me like something needs to change if we want to grow the sport in the area. With the rumors (at least one confirmed) of new tracks joining in and possible dead weight dropping off, I would expect to see some change for next year. But will the change of venue being the only difference can we really expect much improvement?
