100%I mean MX Sports. Does this stuff surprise any of you? The entire organization was created for MONEY. And they have done a brilliant job over the decades of brainwashing all the sheepeole that they (MX sports) are not only needed, but you should feel blessed they afford you the right to race a dirt bike. If you only think the word Monopoly is just a board game, then you need to maybe crack a dictionary and take off the mind control device and look around. TV rights, sign up, sanction fees, gate fees, sponsors, Tickets, promoters fees and on and on all go to feed the beast that is the almighty Coombs.
You don’t need a riders union. You need a competitive series. A riders union would have little to no power with the already signed contracts of factory riders and the relatively short “career” that most privateer riders have. You have to rebuild much like KTM did with there product. Grassroots, get them young. Build a brand that in a few years can compete. All you old f’s will remember the NMA. Back when Ponca City was rolling, that was the national to win. LL was a side note, second fiddle to the NMA. Then greed and piss poor organization killed that off. In steps MX Sports and now they have no one or no other organization to keep them in check. They can make rules and there is not a damn thing anyone can do about it.
Wow, I could go on and on about this.
Moto tees don’t want to compete.....I am not sure why motocrossers don't have merchandise trailers like they do at dirt tracks. DIrt track racers, have merchandising trailers at the races and the drivers make money off their merchandise sales. Surprised the outdoor nationals don't do the same thing.
Only fans? Wait wrong siteButtery and Deegan seem to make a few bucks off merch . Hahahaha A lot of the pros have vlogs they are pretty cool to follow. Troll train got merch. Raha has merch ...
If all the riders, and teams, united, they could demand bargaining on these issues. Being divided, they'll always get F**ked by the corporations profiting off of their sport, their efforts and hard work.Follow the money. If they sold rider tees then they would have to negotiate using your likeness for profits. They don’t want to lose a single dollar so they sell “Supercross” t-shirts. (Which they also own the copyright to that word).
Im sure if you dig a little I bet you would find a family member is the owner of Moto tees...
A “riders union” may help with the small stuff. But understand, they will have no real power. The crowd come to see the big names. The big names have contracts that say which events they will race and that is how they get paid.
Besides, they already have a riders union... it’s called the AMA. If a small group of people in Columbus had a pair they could actually do something about real issues. But since they do NOTHING you then have to assume they are sucking from the same tit.
Im glad people are finally starting to pay attention to this stuff.
Competition for your racing dollar is the only way this will change. We need another organization on a national level.
Don’t believe me? Hello? If you live in Ohio and race moto, what has happened in the past 10 years? Kicked the AMA to the curb, entry’s sky rocket, the AMA (MX Sports) comes back begging at the table. “We will give you a qualifier if you let us come back”. BAM! Right back where you started. “Enforcing” the same stupid rule book, sending them more and more fees. Just like nothing ever happened.
Guys, we all just lived it. And it will happen again until we have a second REAL option.
So, a riders union? Just another way to pull more money out of YOUR pocket. But I’m sure they would have a cool sticker.
All it would take is the privateers NOT showing up. They need them as gate fillers. Without them, the product on the track for the fans in attendance and TV looks pretty thin. But that will never happen. Too many others will still show up to get into that night show.If all the riders, and teams, united, they could demand bargaining on these issues. Being divided, they'll always get F**ked by the corporations profiting off of their sport, their efforts and hard work.
The riders also deserve representation and a voice for dealing with the AMA, which has an incredible history of stupid decisions.
The riders, and teams could also benefit from representation in negotiating contracts with manufacturers.
They are not permitted to sell merch at the races. Is that surprising?I am not sure why motocrossers don't have merchandise trailers like they do at dirt tracks. DIrt track racers, have merchandising trailers at the races and the drivers make money off their merchandise sales. Surprised the outdoor nationals don't do the same thing.
