1979 Suzuki RM

I’m building a set of wheels for a 1979 RM250 which will be a race bike not a show bike. What are you guys using for 18-2.15 and 21-1.60 rims? If I use modern Excel rims do I have to drill them? I would appreciate any guidance.

Excel rims require Excel spokes as the hole diameter is different than stock.

Your best bet is to talk to Buchanan and figure out options.

Buchanan is about 820 for Sun rims (there house brand) and spokes. And Dubya will build Excel wheels with my hubs for 750 just seem steep

Yes having anyone build wheels for you adds up.

Get the SRTs for under 200 and lace them up with your stock spokes.
