OK, someone that knows SX rules explain this to me. Jett went 2-2-21 for an 8th overall. If you DNF you go to the bottom of the results. One guy DNS so he should have been 21st. with the DNF over all. Anyone else see it like that? Its a Triple Crown and all three mains add up to one finish so it still should have been a DNF and not scored 21st.

Looks like he is out for four months..sucks we are all ready losing talent so early in the season.

Pro scoring is different

Survival of the… last man standing.

It’s sad to see the state of the field after only 5 rounds. But it’s not the remaining rounds that it effects, it’s also the outdoor season.

Question begs asking, what could change with the tracks and SX that would help with injuries? Are the tracks to “technical”? The margin of error is razor thin. Can things be done to increase that margin? Does a track with “flow” create more of that risk vs a track that doesn’t have “flow”? We as a spectator love seeing guys jump sections that look smooth. But, is that best for riders safety. Do wheels on the ground help keep the rider safer? Or do we create new obstacles that slow down riders? I don’t think we will solve the problems on Pitracer but there are a lot of questions to be asked. Or we say F it and just send out the next batch of gladiators and know that we have a fresh crop coming to the ranks after Loretta’s.

There professionals for a reason. That’s what separates the factory dudes and privateers. Just for example a privateer like karnow isn’t hitting technical whoops and technical rythmes where you have to quad and such. I think you have to keep the tracks technical because it’s the only separator I also think 9 whoops is gay there the best in the world put 12-13 and see how much of a separator they are

I agree the technical aspect is a separator. But, is the separator for some and not for others, the reason for all of the injuries?

There isn’t going to be a one size fits all strategy but I think step one could be removing some tuff blocks and just adding some chalk lines.

Still showing your age and inexperience I see! You’re comparing karnow to the factory riders. Lmfao. I say put Karnow on a factory bike with the factory mechanics and coaches, or any high level privateer maybe like clason or whoever and say the same thing. When you get to the factory level, the bikes are just that, factory. I say put the factory guys on the same bike as Karnows and see if they hit the big rhythm sections, and whoops the same way as Karnow. What separates the factory dudes from the privateers is the bike, the mechanics, the training, and everything else that comes along. I love the sport but could care less about supercross. I would love to see the top riders in both classes 100% healthy for the outdoors. I love the outdoors way more than supercross. When’s the last time you saw the top riders all 100% at the first gate drop of the outdoors? Put gay boy deegan on a privateer bike with privateer finances and see how good he does!!! Think about it!

Factory bikes? Suspension in the 450 class for AMA SX maybe.

Your argument isn’t holding up.

In the setting of Factory guys are hurt.

So to me if we don’t want to tame the tracks down knowing the elite on the elite equipment can’t stay together, why would we want to keep these maniacle ways for the guys on subpar equipment with subpar training and low budgets?

How often was Jeremy McGrath hurt in those 7 winning seasons ? I feel like we could get some awesome racing these days with a little less technical track set ups. Everyone will have a better chance to stay healthy to the end.

Restrictor plates stopped people from 250+mph in nascar and getting killed. Why is it not a thought for us to restrict the engines or ease up on the track technicalities ?

There’s stuff that can be done to mitigate injury to attempt to make this sport safer. And I don’t think airbag chest protectors are it.

I was using karnow as an example and I a 100 percent believe the dudes on the factory teams are so talented I guarantee if they got put on his bike they’d still be sending everything. Don’t get me wrong bike set up is key but those dudes are talented enough to make a somewhat stock bike work with suspension and still make mains. Also fact of the matter is supercross is the premier series so honestly a lot of top dudes could care a less about motocross and roczen even said that. The top dudes who have gotten hurt all was honestly just bad luck had zero to do with the track. Jett and Eli just unlucky. Hunter just didn’t get out the corner straight. Pierce brown just had a hand blow off. To me you have to keep the tracks how they have been. Crazy how one technical track this weekend was such a huge separator you almost had people getting lapped twice. It’s not the tracks that are getting people hurt!! Chase made every round last year and that’s apart of the sport you gotta be healthy for 31 rounds. You know what they say can’t win a championship in week one thru six but you can lose them

Tomac got hurt two seasons ago. Without even crashing. Broke his leg again. Didn’t crash. Or did he ? I dunno. That’s technical and these guys are getting hurt. I think more so than previously. I dunno tho

I have noticed that there have been a lot less ruts in jump faces and between the jumps. Yes there has been some but not as bad as years past.
