    track prep preferences

Great topic. It used to be a track might promote their upcoming ride by saying something like "weather looks great, track will be in great shape... come on out and have some fun." Now it's more like "gonna' be sick ruts - come get some training before Regionals"

What do you think of this class list? I believe Motos 21+ were on the mini track, but still....

    TENTATIVE LL's classes for 2022

Don't forget, we will need A,B & C for all of these. ^^^^^^^ 27 vet classes - yep, sounds about right. :p

    TENTATIVE LL's classes for 2022

I am still befuddled why there cannot simply be 30+, 40+ and 50+ and they are wide open if you meet the age requirement. I cannot wrap my head around why there needs to be so many Vet classes of so many varieties. I must have some type of mental deficiency as to not comprehend why this is such...

    Stark is here

^^^ That video encapsulates all the reasons this bike does not interest me. When I get to the track, I like to leave my phone in my car and forget about it. If I want to change my "gas motor's behavior", I actually enjoy swapping some brass and smelling like race gas. No knock on the guys who...

Back when the OMA racing was fun! What happened??

I desperately wish we could have a shorter class list like the old days, but I've come to accept that we can never go back. Through the 90's and 00's, promoters slowly kept adding classes to the point where we are now. I think they rely on the entry fees from almost every single person...

Ain’t just Ohio moto that’s dead

2 comments: 1. Moto is headed the way of ATV racing 2. I agree with those crying there are too many classes. I don't see why the attached class structure from good old Delta in 1987 could not work today, with small tweaks to reflect the current crop of bikes available.

    MX Express Opener

I just wanted to post a positive review of the MX Express opener (Swanton, OH - the former Zero Gravity track). It's a good, fun, safe layout and it looks like they have the tools for good track prep. Everything was well organized and it's a nice clean facility. For those who rode there in...

Need help understanding Detroit seating chart

To translate the track map to the stadium seating chart, just remember the tunnel is on the opposite end of the stadium from where the track goes into the stands.

As the season comes to an end, something the promoters need to think about.

Here are the results from Glass City M/C (Delta, OH) from May 30, 1987. This was enough classes back then. I don't expect we'll ever go back to this, but one can always hope.

As the season comes to an end, something the promoters need to think about.

I like these suggestions and also feel there are WAAAY too many classes (speaking of GLMX and D14 in MI). Perhaps it wouldn't help turnouts by reducing classes, but it would sure make it more meaningful to place xth out of 15-20 bikes instead of 1st out of 5.
