Why all the ktm bashing?

I noticed in a few threads people bashing ktms hard, why is that? I made the switch off of suzukis to my ktms and have had nothing but good luck and positive things to say. The bikes are amazing and when people talk prices they obviously havent really compared the bikes as well as the pricing lately. Its not that big of a difference... So Im curious to hear everyones opinion... Do you have a legitimate argument or are you just not with the non-japanese movement? Lets hear em
 
Thank You I ride KTM as well and also have been noticing this and I also was on Suzuki's before I really dont see the huge problems with KTM . People are right to have there opinions but dang
 
It's just the stereotypes that exist.

Hondas rule.
Suzukis aren't reliable.
KTMs are crappy.

None of those above statements are true. If I was buying a new bike I'd buy a KTM.

Heck -- KTMs are so good now that Robin had to switch off them to keep riding weird bikes! (husaberg)
 
Back in the day, maybe. Now, if i could afford any new bike, ktm would be a real possibility for me. Id like to have a 450 and a 250 2t- ktm in the garage..
 
People still think KTM's are the crappy bikes of the past. Every since they changed the chassis up in 07 they have been sweet bikes.
 
It is what it is as far as people's opinions go..... but the real fact of the matter is that all of the bikes are so good these days that you can win on any of them if are a good enough rider. No bike is going to keep a good rider back.

I've said it before, I've been beaten by everything from Hondas to Husqavarnas on the track, and their bikes didn't seem to be the problem or the solution as to why they were going faster than I was.
 
I feel as if KTM has came a long way in the last 10 or so years and since they were somewhat late coming up in the game i think people are still stereotyping from the past when they werent as reliable and hard to find parts. But now the technology and the improvements have been amazing
 
I bought a Ktm last year and love it, I switch from a yz250 and I dont think i could go back bike has so much more power..
 
I traded my rmz 450 for an 11 ktm 250f. I loved the bike so much i tried out the 350 and absolutley fell in ljve. People doubt the 350 hardcore but in amateur racing and general riding its an amazing bike. Hell... my 350 is as fast as a LOT of 450s if not faster. I havent lost many drag races if at all and mu starts are great on the bike.
 
I've been blessed that my boyfriend bought a bike so I could ride too. It is a KTM 125. I used to ride a Honda 250f. The KTM seems to be much easier for me to ride, and I like it a lot, especially after Meadowlarks on Tuesday. It's been hard for me with the convert from Honda to KTM, two stroke to four stroke, and MX to a lot of trail riding, but this KTM is very nice. After a year of riding 4 different bikes I think I have the hang of this one now.

For the record I used to be a basher. But in retrospect I think I was just expected to believe it, "you'll kill yourself on a two stroke, and I'll never buy a KTM all they do is break and they are too expensive." I find that to be very much false.
 
You guys switched from Suzukis to KTMs and loved the KTMs.........thats an easy one, because you were riding Suzukis!! Seriously, I think I would consider riding a KTM these days. They have grown on me since my son has been riding them. I am not too impressed with the 85 though. think I am gonna go with a KX 85 for him, and I have never owned anything green before.

The KTM 85 is very large for an 85 and suits the older / larger 85 pilots well. Coming from 65's onto your first 85 isn't the KTM's niche in the 85 market.

And I was on a KTM last weekend again at Red Bud, but back to the Hussy tonight.
 
For one, i love KTMs unique engineering that sets them apart from the competition. When you work on em you see...they do things a LITTLE different then the japs and they make things either a little easier to work on or tear apart etc or a little more reliable or protected etc. I LOVE my KTM but not only that....KTM has made their brand into a cult...or made an identity out of their bikes. What I mean by this "brand experience" is that have FULL lines of KTM Powerparts and Powerwear... No other brand makes their own stock AND aftermarket line of high quality and tricked out parts. None of the jap brands have full lines of gear, shirts, accessories such as umbrellas, bracelets, wallets, pet accessories, home decor, etc etc. I go into my local KTM dealer to pic up parts and usually walk out with something new every time, whether it be a hoody, shirt, umbrella, powerballance bracelet, banner/flag, decals for my truck, etc etc etc! i forget what other apparel or accessories ive purchased lol but I love representing KTM!

I rode everything under the sun befire my suzukis.... new honda crfs... yams.... everything. I loved the 2010 and up rmzs however making the switch ti the ktm was amazing. The best way I can describe ktms to people is that the ergos feel like a honda but they handle like suzukis and its the truth. Hiwever my ktms arent as twitchy as my rmzs were

Sharc I couldn't agree more. China is lurking just waiting for the right moment to put a major hurting on Japan. When that happens you can kiss the big four bikes goodbye and say hello to KTM!
