    Karsmaker's '73 Factory OW

45K? Ouch! There was a guy at the Apple Cabin a few weeks ago on GORGEOUS '74 YZ250A? I was in kindergarten at the time-- and wasn't interested in riding bikes yet, but man-- that whip was fantastic! It had some Ohlins shocks too. MY YZ one-hunnert should fulfil my vintage needs.... I hope. --L*64

Engine "Blueprinting"? What exactly does this mean?

Got it. It seemed like a "blueprint" meant that they were measuring, planning, designing, etc. So I was wondering why they'd do a "blueprint", and nothing else. --L*64

    Stewart Into ward jr.

Seriously? A criminal case? If he IS indicted somehow, a student attorney should be able to win that case. It's terrible that a kid was killed, but he had absolutely no biz in the middle of the track, no matter how common the scenario is. Nobody that has ever raced anything including a tricycle...

Engine "Blueprinting"? What exactly does this mean?

Oh. I see. I was thinking that it meant that they made a diagram or something. So it basically means that it's been cleaned up, and the cases matched. --L*64

    Memorable Ohio Amatuer MX Races

Hey! What ever happened to Dave Hill? I was just talking about that guy about a year ago, and nobody seemed to remember (Pit) who I was talking about. I think his girl was one of the trophy girls at the more local national races. The guy was racing one year, and gone the next, never to be seen...

Engine "Blueprinting"? What exactly does this mean?

So I've been doing some online surfing, and looking at vintage bike builds. If earning a living wasn't mandatory, I'd spend my time building cool $h!t, like vintage motorcycles, cars (I'm a Corvette freak, partial to all pre- 1974's. I actually have a super sweet '04 project I put together, but...

Rough riding at Apple Cabin MX track.

Yep-- ^^^ He's right. I'm up there all the time on my play bikes. We ALWAYS have stopped to pick up downed kids. It's alot easier for us to do it, than have the parents running out onto the track. I try and have the kids pick up their own bikes and get them started with minimal help other than...

    Finally done!

Sweet! Now get a pit bike class at the vintage races. If they DID have a pit bike class-- I'm certain I'd be building a $5K XR75/80/100 with a full Tak motor! If you look in the Old Guys Old Bikes section, you'll see my soon to be restored YZ100. Closest thing they'll let me run to a pit bike in...

    Open Practice vs Sessions

Awww. IMO-- sessions suck! If you were going to do sessions, I'd do a faster group, and a slower group-- that's it. another option would be to have one group have the track from say... 10-1, and have the other group go from 1-4. After 4, it's an open track. Another route, (I've done a bit of...

    Open Practice vs Sessions

It's terrible news when there is any kind of injury, let alone a fatality in this or any sport really. IMO-- practice should be practice with the understanding that there are many types of riders and skill levels practicing on the track at once. In this particular case, it was a bigger bike...

    Craigslist, Impulse Buying, and Decisions

I almost bought a Genuine Buddy 125 scooter this winter myself. Kinda embarrassing to be seen on a scooter after the megabikes I've owned over the years, but I coulda grabbed it up for about $400. I was planning to use it to rent out to guys with big Harley dressers to take their tests on in...

    Craigslist, Impulse Buying, and Decisions

Hahaha! I'm a recovering CL addict.... My name is Luckystar, and I have a problem.... LOL! There should be support groups for people with this type of affliction. I think it all comes down to wanting to own certain bikes over the years, but never getting them. Sometimes you can find a bike...

Is their a right way to crash?

Haha! If you watched the shadow next to Hershey, you can see the suckyness unfolding!! The second crasher had some nice technique I must admit. Both seem to have done an adequate job... --L*64

So I found my YZ100!! Anybody have any good info about them?

Sounds great! Keep looking! I was up at the Apple Cabin last night, and I ran into this fellow that had a mega sweet '74 YZ250 with the strap tank and a pair of Ohlins shocks out back! It was a gorgeous resto. Hope I'm not going to catch the illness myself. One vintage bike is fine, more than...

Is their a right way to crash?

I don't think you can know if you've done it correctly until the crash has ended. I've been crashing for a quarter century, and I still have yet to get a good technique down on a consistent basis. IMO-- protecting the family jewels is always a plus. ---L*64

So I found my YZ100!! Anybody have any good info about them?

Damn! Really? I wasn't riding yet back then. That's awesome! Any pics? How was the motor? I rode this one a little bit, and it's a bit quicker than what I was thinking. About the frame cracking-- I was only planning to race it a couple times a year on the vintage tracks. I wasn't gonna launch...
