Anybody ever done any plastic welding?

So the cheapo Harbor Freight setup actually works ok? I might as well try it. It's not as good as welding metal I guess. --L*64

    Favorite MX Boots?

Hey All! I'm wondering what your favorite MX boots are? You guys like the newer "tennis shoe" soled style? Or classic style? I like the Alpinestars Tech 8's myself. I have a feeling the older riders will opt for classic, and the young cats will opt for either video games or the tennis shoe...

    Crf50 key switch bypass

Ya. You can unplug them and not use them. Done. I boxed up the key switch on my 150F. I'll put it back on when/if I ever sell the bike. --L*64

Anybody ever done any plastic welding?

I'm wondering if there's a kit to do it right, or if somebody is super proficient at it? --L*64

Anybody ever done any plastic welding?

I have a discontinued ABS plastic street bike fairing with a couple of cracks in it. I was thinking about having it plastic welded? Anyone do it, or know anything about it? Any good kits I could practice with? --L*64

    Dave Miller RIP!!

Got the sad news that DMC Dave passed away. I've always been a fan, and I've talked to him on the phone a handful of times about metal fab/minibike projects. I lusted after the 105cc mid '80's KX's he built, and the CR85/XR100 conversions. --L*64

    Prayers for Micky Diamond

It’s Dymond. But he’s my FB bud. I saw it on there too. From what his GF posted, his injuries are serious, but he should make a full recovery. Bicycles are more dangerous than motorcycles in my mind due to the minimal stability. I guess it depends how you’re riding the motorcycle- Joe Rice...

Smith Rd Memorial Day Race Pics

Premix and JJ- I agree fully. I know Larry from being around there. I think there’s likely more to it than what we think when it comes to track prep. I’m glad to have the track close to home that isn’t a supercross track. I guess I’d say that you can’t please everybody, and we can’t expect...

Smith Rd Memorial Day Race Pics

Oh boy.... Ya. Lots of mad riders after intermission. I thought the layout was a lot of fun? If nobody rides on the pit bike track on race day, then I’d open it up and run it, then rope it back off on practice days as a pit bike track. I’d say “ruined” is harsh. I heard a lot of people saying...

    Any issues/problems with ProWheel rims?

The name seems good, they look good, but apparently- they’re junk! Looks like Tusk for my vintage bike, and anodized stock for my trail thrasher then. Damn do I hate crap products!! AmateurWheel.... —L*64

    Any issues/problems with ProWheel rims?

Ya. I’m looking to get Tusk rims for my vintage 125. I’m wondering how much thought has gone into the names of current MX products? Tusk? Moose? I dunno- but feedback on Tusk has been good. Just wondering how the ivory incisors of a very large trunked mammal has anything to do with dirt bikes...

    Any issues/problems with ProWheel rims?

Awww boy. First I had to drill them to get the nipples through the rim holes.... Laced them up til the spokes bottomed out, and there’s at least an 8th inch of play between the rim and hub. Phew!! When I got the rims from them, they were supposed to be a simple “plug and play” as they called it...

    Any issues/problems with ProWheel rims?

Anyone ever ran these and had fitment issues? I’m having a huge hassle getting them to work, and they seem baffled when I call them about it? Like they’ve never heard of any problem with their product before? —L^64

    Drilling out spoke nipple holes?

Hey All! I’m working on lacing a set of black Pro Wheel rims for a TTR125L, to the stock hubs on my CRF150F mini bike. (This isn’t a racial, or breast related thread...) When I ordered the rims from PW, I specifically asked if the TTR rims will need to be drilled to accommodate the OEM Honda...
