It was 4 years ago to this day....Ron Boyas passed away while practicing for the east coast supercross season in North Carolina. Motocross was Ron's life. he cherished every moment that he was able to ride. take the time today to tell a friend or family member how much they mean to you....you might not get another chance.

In our circle of friends, Ron is talked about alot, and never forgotten. He made riding a mx bike look like a dance of some sort. Smooth operator he was on a 2 wheeler. There is not a time that I ride and that i don't think about Ron and his influence on me as a motocross rider.

You have no idea how many times I look up at the clock and it says 9:15.
I always stop what I am doing, smile and say "Hi Ronnie".....because I know he sent that to me.

Very good advice, if we remember those who pass and learn from them they will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Ron.

Anyone who has been over my shop has seen that Ronnie has a permanent home there. Currently in the latest re-work he has found his spot right next to Ryan Dungey's amateur photo. Every time I grab a tool I look at Ron.

glad to see and hear that people haven't forgot about Ron. i have had that "lump" in my throat all day...
gonna pick my 3yr old up from daycare today and tell her some Ron stories. he died 3 months before my daughter was born.

I still remember throwin whips at the cabin with ron till dark.... our goggles were covered in sweat it was hot but it didnt matter just kept doin laps and hittin the widowmaker out back never forget that !!!!

Yes...Ronnie was motocross,I think about him everytime I ride...9:15 also pops up all the time for me.I will never forget the whips and he would just camp out everywhere in the motohome and RIDE ALL DAY.or ALL WEEKEND....BIG WHIPS..and Smiles..

I always think of Ron when I ride...915 on the back of the helmet..I see lots of 9:15 too..I just smile and think of Ron..He lived the life...MOTOCROSS was his life..His WHIPS and smiles were the best..When ya pulld into the track and seen the motorhome...You knew it was going to be a good day.."BOYAS IS HERE,SWEET" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzzPFizVc00

Cant really say it much better than you guys.. The dude was awesome.. Bottom line.. As a person, as a rider, the whole 9.. I see 9:15 alot too. Not only on the clock.. Anytime I walk into Big Drews (some of you may know him) garage/drinking room, I see Boyas' number plate.. Hell, even if I walk into my bed room I have a 915 sticker on the mirror.. Got one on the helmet too.. Gonna need to find another for a new helmet when I buy one tho.. It should be everyones goal to dig life and riding the way that dude seemed to..

Ron was always there having fun no matter what part of the country he was riding in........... sometimes, it's just nice to see a face from home when you're at a track alone and make you feel good. I'd pull into Red Bud over Mother's Day weekend (off to visit Mother in Law in Chicago) with no one with me and be stoked to see the Big Motorhome and the 915 bike on the rack behind it. I'd park nearby and know that I had someone to help me out in case I needed any help......... Ron, your smiling face at the racetrack is forever missed!

This thread isin't complete until BJ gets in here and says soemthing!

I hardly knew Ron, but everytime I talked to him, it felt like we had always known each other. Might be part of the whole mx family thing. I always liked seeing him at the track and riding with him. I remember going to open practice at Red Bud and him being there too. And I remember showing up at Beans and him running around the water truck roads. He was crazy! And would jump almost anything! But you guys are so right, Riding made him extremely happy, and you could always tell. A bad day riding for him, was still a good day riding.
