On the quad.
I still got the Yz 250. Trails need to dry a smidge.
Not real short, just on the edge, I could stand to go another 5 feet. Super nose high the first time. I was nowhere near forward enough. I landed all out of whack, just about took the bars from my hands and tried to pitch me off the back. The next time was a little better, but same deal pinned and the buckle of my pants to the cross bar pad the whole way up the face. I'm just not comfortable jumping this thing pinned yet. I need to work on it. Hopefully i can lose 10 pounds over the next three weeks, and maybe I can get over it easier.
I dont mind follow someone to guage speed, but I never try something for the first time right behind someone, thats scares the he11 out of me. I personally think you just know. I usually wait until the track gets super dry and fast, and usually I will jump 3/4 of the way without a ton of effort (it just happens), then I know the time has come. The next lap, I will just cruise and try to do everything perfect to keep my nerve. Then I usually tell myself, "you only live once", and thats it, time to sh!t or get off the pot.
I must say, the bikes make it look so effortless. I feel like I'm trying it on a 400lbs 150f.
