I've got a buddy that is real beginner - probably too green to go on the big track. At Apple Cabin is there an easy grass track or someplace where a real newbee could putt around?

Put him right on the big track......I'm to it this year myself....it was the only way to get me going with everyone else flying past, and around me

They have a mini track that may work for you to start out on.

If you go to the big bike track just hold your line and stay to the side where possible like over the jumps. Weaving across the track is what causes a lot of crashes with beginners. Just ride without looking back and have fun.
