Big Blue & the 250 outdoors

Hershey, buy my white one with about 10 hrs on it so I can go buy the other white one... lol

I heard Yamaha's suck somewhere before.. read it on the net so it must be true.. its purely my yamahas fault I can only hold on to it for two laps.. damn dirt bike.. it can't be from working 60+ every week.. lol

A new bike for 65 may be a recipe for success IMO... pumped on that..

Martin and Webb obviously are outdoor specialist and are shinning compared to SX. The new Yamaha's are all awesome bikes. Would love to see a roczen or Dungey on a Yamaha. I am predicting that Martin wins both motos at Millville by 20 seconds.

You know, I can understand saying it's the bike if it was close to stock, but at that level and $80k later, is it really about the bike? I'm thinking Martin and Webb have just been riding above the rest. At least at the first few races. It should be a fun rest of the season in the little bike class. Team Green will get another couple wins or so...
Bubba couldn't make a Yamaha work. And Jgr has more money than anyone needs to build a Dirtbike race team.

That's a Yamaha and this is a Chevrolet. Maybe 10% of the non critical parts are even similar. JGR could build a HODAKA that could win Supercross

th

Exactly. Jgr could manufacturer any Japanese production motorcycle in their shop in Carolina from scratch.

Bubbas Yamaha was insanely trick.

Sx would be cool if they all rode the same equipment with the same settings. Wonder what the results would look like.

There were no issues with Bubba's Yamaha. Whatever he did not like on the bike.......could of and probably was reconstructed. Look at McGrath, he rode a 5 year old frame because he liked it better when he was at Honda. I don't buy the whole Yamaha was a bad bike thing. Bubba gave Yamaha more bad press than ever with a few comments. The Yamahas were still good bikes. Yeah, I ma biased a bit.

Biased here too but take 20mins and listen to this podcast with Dan Truman from GET Ignitions.

They offer programmable ECU via wifi with data collection.
The example they give is a rider having issues in the whoops, saying he was in 4th gear but data showed he was in 3rd.
Also testing a module called Power Assist which sounds like advanced electronic traction control. They can even add or lessen engine braking.
JGR, Star, Valli are all using it. Very cool IMO!

For a long time I've had the same type of thoughts as Georgie for setting up a race series similar to the old IROC car racing series . Use all the same bikes with identical motors ( as much as possible ; I know you can build two identical motors and one might run better than the other ) , even the same tires . Have the riders draw numbers as to which bike they get for each race . Let them change bars & controls as they like and set suspension with the clickers and spring preload only . Drop the gate and go at it . Now we see who the best RACER is .

Yamaha has the most HP this year. I know what you all are going to say....they can build anything with the money.

I think the back slant engine with the intake in the front offers more potential and can be built for more HP than the others. That being said it is still up to the riders to win. But on an even playing field an extra half HP is enough.
