Track etiquette where have you gone????

You can't help others Learn. All you can do is try to educate them and hope they take an effort to make it stick

So next time someone cuts in front of me to exit the track with out looking I'm gonna wheelie over him, lesson learned! Learning the hard way is rarely forgotten. Haha

I'm guessing 99% of the people responding to this thread are 40yrs + and have had proper track etiquette
explained to them because of something they did or learned it over the years.

So rather than pound on the keyboard about the issue take the initiative to help others learn.
We'll all benefit.

Like crossing from left to right on a triple face, in front of a rider who was doing the jump, with the only intention of slowing him down? Hypocrisy...;)

This is my list, thoughts?

1. Proper Safety Gear Required
2.THINK, be aware of your surroundings and fellow riders.
3. Look before entering the track, do not cut in front of oncoming riders.
4. DO NOT STOP ON THE TRACK.
5. DO NOT CUT THE TRACK.
6. Hold your line, do not ride all over the track.
7. Do not ride above your abilities.
8. Use caution when passing others.
9. Do not ride the middle of the track when
faster riders are passing you.
10. Safety starts with you! (smokey bear voice)

I was trying to put myself in the place of an inexperienced rider who may be ignorant to track etiquette who reads the sign and then cuts to the side of the track when he hears a faster rider approaching him.

oh boy....sarcasm is a tough sell typing behind a keyboard.

Hate to tell you but people are only gonna read the first 4 and then tear onto the track. So 5 on is worthless.

Agreed, fast guys can find away around, that's why they are fast guys. Biggest thing to me is having someone be predictable and hold their line to avoid a major collision.
