BEST and WORST bikes you ever owned??

worst is easy my 1982 yz 125, my rod went out , then the crank went out. bike was slow only owned it 7 months

my best was my 94 yz 250, I have owned 7 yz250s and never had a bad one. 81, 83,84,94,2001,03,05

I wanna know how you feel about that husky...

I feel great about that! I could easily see that '82 YZ125 being a POS! It had that weird radiator setup that was behind the front plate. Those early '80's bikes were just getting around to figuring out liquid cooling, so it's like the radiator and associated plumbing were after thoughts.

I can appreciate the YZ250's though. I wish we'd have kept the 2 strokes and steel frames-- along with $4899 and $5999 price tags.... I know the 4 strokes are alot more user friendly, but I love to ride and not spend alotta chips!!! --L*64

Worst 98 an 99 KTM 250sx, bikes were good, rear suspension was the worst.
Best 13 an 14 crf450, best handling and best suspended bike motocross and hare scramble!
Can't understand the complaints on these forks, the front wheel always feels like it's on rails. The forks soak everything up with no deflection. Setting the sag on the bike has never been easier.

Best, 15 ktm 250Sx, 75 yz125c, the yz was so advanced at the time, that it felt like cheating.

Worst, 79 rm400, 83 cr480, these 2 bikes gave me nothing but trouble.

Worst- '92 KX 80. Was bought new and I pushed it off tracks at least half a dozen times that season. My dad called it "The Green Grenade". Neither of us were ever happier to see a bike get sold.

Best-
'95 CR 125. Purchased from Honda Of Troy, one of Brian Swink's practice bikes. Some simple Pro circuit mods to the suspension and motor, but was a ripper and smoked anything I had been on at that point.

'05 YZ 250. Bought it new at the end of '04 and didn't sell it until '12, and there are still days at some tracks I would like to have it.

I'm quite happy with my current ride ('10 CRF 450) and plan on keeping it for next year. So I'm not going ride any of my friends brand new bikes, that's the "Plan" anyway haha

Best was my 2002 yzf426 and my 2002 RM 250, worst was 2012 kx250f... Never again will I own a 250f, less than 30 hours on it, meticulously maintained, dropped and exhaust valve and ruined the whole engine, plus I shattered the dampening rod in the forks as well... Kawasakis are junk

Are quads allowed in this thread? :D

1st quad - 2001 Yamaha Breeze 125 - Beat the snot out of it and 90% of the time it was wide open. Held up awesome especially considering that.

2nd quad - 2007 Honda TRX250EX - Again ridden wide open and held up well.

3rd quad - 2009 KTM450SX - Hell of a jump up from the 250, raced it bone stock for a long time and has held up great. Even now with a built motor it's been very reliable.

4th quad - 2013 Walsh crf450r efi hybrid - Raced it for a whole season now and have had a few issues but nothing major. Best quad I've ridden. Bike engine gearing in a quad is different, but tons of power and the walsh chassis handles great.

Best 2013 Factory Edition KTM 450 FE

Worst by faaaar 1998 KX 125 POC. ( my 1982 RM 125 was waaaaaay better)

I wanna know how you feel about that husky...
I love the Husky, it has ohlins forks, v force reeds, fmf silencer. whats not to love!! it is way to advanced for my skill level.. lol it is for sure the best handling bike I have ever owned. just the motor gets me in trouble compared to a 4 stroke

Best memories for me - 1988 RM125 -- I want to restore one and hang it on the wall. Sure wish I still had mine.

Best actual bike -- probably 1998 YZ125. This bike just was top notch in every category. I think I want one of these to restore and play around on.

Worst: no question. 1987 RM125 Slowest POS ever made.
Best overall: Any KX500 or a 1985 KX125. Best engine: 1998 KTM 300 I mean 250... no, I did not cheat. and 2000 Husaberg FC501 just looked cool (600 had better power. I know, duh)

Worst bike: ---1986 RM250. The water pump seal is on the crank shaft. After the 2nd crank half in a year I sold that POS. It ran OK and handled terrible.
---2013 RMZ 450 with the worst stock suspension I have ever ridden

Best bike: ---2006 YZ 125. The best handling best running most fun bike I have ever owned. Ive had 2- 2005 and 2- 2006 models. My current 06 I have had since 2008. I dont see it leaving anytime soon.
---2013 RMZ450 with Ohlins. Handled like a dream, cornered excellent and had a fantastic motor. May she rest in peace even though she is a little crispy!

Worst bike for me was a 2006 Husky TC450. That thing was so heavy and turned like a city bus with 4 flat tires. The motor and brakes were good though.

I've had a couple of best bikes: '87 CR125, amazing machine. My '94 YZ 250 had a great motor and handled well. My 2009 RMZ 450 just seems to fit me well, great motor and superb handling. I have only put 30 minutes on the FC450 but so far so good!

I've enjoyed all of my bikes, even the worst one provided a few good moments. After reading here, I may be the only one but I thought my perimeter frame '90 KX 125 was a great bike.

Here are the my best racing bikes by displacement.

100 1974 Yamaha MX 100

125 1983 YZ 125 / 2006 YZ 125

200 1977 Yamaha IT 175

250 2006 YZ 250 / 1988 YZ 250

500 1989 ATK 406

500+ 2001 KTM 520 SX

The only Worst 1985 YZ 490

And a new category is the Best and Worst 1996 360 Husqvarna WXC

Best bikes ...83 CR 250 other than the left handed kickstart. The Blue keystone seat was badass too. 89 CR250 I loved that bike, some issues keeping the power valves clean but the motor was smooth and the suspension was perfect for me. ( I actually could jump that bike) .... worst was my 1976 YZ 80 ...blown crank that gave me fits for a while, never did get it running again very good.

Worst bike: ---1986 RM250. The water pump seal is on the crank shaft. After the 2nd crank half in a year I sold that POS. It ran OK and handled terrible.
---2013 RMZ 450 with the worst stock suspension I have ever ridden

So what replaced or will replace it??
