John Grewe and Barry Carsten

Can someone please fill me in on who these guys are and what they did in there past MX careers. I can't believe the lap times these guys are turning at Mini O's.
 
Barry Carsten was about the longest running pro privateer I remember. Qualified for countless mx/sx races over a 15(ish) year career. Only likes yellow bikes. Think he's an east coast guy.
 
John and Barry are very efficient and fast Vet riders. They are staples at the front of the fields in all of the Amateur Vet races.
 
I cant believe that they let them ride amateur events, they are ex pro's. Just kidding, they are 2 very fast old guys that have worked hard to ride at that level.

In defense of Grewe, it was a very short pro career, Carsten's was a bit longer.

I've lined up on the same gate as both of them.........Its a joke. They are so much faster a lap than the normal Vet rider. Carsten rode pro nationals forever. Some times qualifying for both classes. I they are like 12 or 13 seconds a lap faster than most in Daytona. At least last year they added 40+ A.
 
Carsten is out here in NJ. Races a lot locally, runs at the front of both Vet A classes. I think he rode 3 classes at the annual Vintage and Vet race at Englishtown. Lots of guys from the 80s out here, you'll find them in the Hi Flyers card sets.
