Its not been announced yet but the Pre-Modern class which previously was a support only class without points or national awards was voted to become a full PV class starting in 2018. It includes Yamaha YZ 250's up to 1987
 
Ok,that's kind of what I thought. I've been reading that 83-84 were the last Post vintage bikes for Yamaha.

Would be a good bike ride in AHRMA nationals, and also the 5 or 6 local/regional AHRMA Great Lakes races,

'85 is basically the same as the '84 but with red and white plastic, front disc brake and the worthless BASS rear brake "regulated" shock. '83 is a yellow, much different bike.
