ALTA Redshift Price Drop.

And the trend is going to take over young riders too! Stacyc was purchased by Harley Davidson, which was an electric strider bike thing. It will be like the kids now that don't understand things that aren't touch screen based when they get faced with actual buttons and things, non electric bikes will be a curiousity that Hipsters work on to be different!

I'm afraid that with ALTA going out of business, and the rules still in place to ban them from Loretta Lynn's right now, I won't be the first guy to race an electric bike at Loretta Lynn's any longer, that was the plan for THIS YEAR. But ALTA and my outside moto life both went quickly south and prevented that from becoming a reality this year, and now there doesn't seem to be a good electric option in the near future and I have only so many years left at that level to be able to make it to Loretta Lynns. I'll just be happy to ride / race my internal combustion engine bike next season a little more and hopefully compete at the ranch one more time and see all the changes from my first year there in 1995 to next years 2020 event.

That's interesting, I'd be up for some E-MTB riding, that sounds like fun. And there's a good chance that is the same Al Pizzino!

They race on Saturday after the Quads at the GNCC Series.

I have been trying to talk my son's mom into buying logan's little brother a Stacyc. He loves his strider he has now and if it get's him more into dirtbikes, that means logan gets to ride his dirtbikes more.

True, I guess he needs something in his life. He gets to be cool on the internet lol.

I wonder if you can snag some altas on dealer floors for super cheap - last time I talked to AES about them Alta was supposed to come pick them up but.........still there.

I was listening to a podcast where a guy bought a totaled tesla at an auction that was in a flood and restored it himself - I've seen some flat track looking builds with alta motors that are pretty cool. I'm fascinated by e-technology- I think 5 years its going to blow the doors off markets - not replace - NEVER replace but just be another option.

I have a friend who's son has a Stacyc - looks like a drill battery snaps to the frame.
The kid is constantly on it - in the driveway, at the races, in the back yard, in the farm fields, in the river.......
He zooms around while everyone else is doing stuff.
Dad has two battery's - switches them out and says that it works well.
He's a little bad ass on it. Taken a few spills already but brushes them off and asks for more.

It looks just like my dewalt battery, but they changed up some of the ports and charge $160 per battery instead of 2 for $100 like dewalt. Logan has rode them a couple times and loves it lol. I have thought about getting with his grandmother and splitting the cost of the 16" and just give it to the brother as a christmas gift from Logan lol.

For all you Alta lovers, here is your chance for a $6000 paper weight.

John250,

If Yamaha came out with one that was on par with YZ450F performance, you wouldn't want one? And let me know if you see and ALTA MXR's for sale......... still a great motorcycle with no noise!

Nope. I am on record that I have ZERO interest in riding battery powered bikes. ZERO. I will find a new hobby at that point.

Politicians going on record is a bad precedent to use................ here or anywhere!!!! Bikes without noise will be the future of off road riding eventually. The noise is not what makes me enjoy riding, and so while I rode the Alta, I was still having a ball riding just like when I ride my Husqvarna 450.

Noise is the number one reason tracks get shut down....hands down. Why would anyone be against eliminating the noise altogether and keeping the exact same fun factor? Imagine if beachwood trails, locon or so many other tracks were still open today?
