I'd like to point out that the photos I am posting I did not take, they are photos of program covers and some photos from inside the programs from past races that I attended. I will also be showing some magazines that I kept from a very extension collection I had and some images from inside of those magazines also that I did not take. Just saying this for legal sake, if that means anything.

In the early days of the sport 'track prep' was not a priority and was in most cases non existent. Many of the real early tracks were built by taking a chainsaw in the woods and cutting out a track then racing the natural terrain, yeah stumps and all. As the sport became more popular things like track prep for dust control and spectator access became a necessity.

It is funny that you mention complaining about track prep, don't ever remember hearing any complaints.
