I was just curious if anybody had any information if the Summit Indoors was going to go on this year?
 
Jeremy Osborn said a decision would be announced later this week. He did say the first round was looking doubtful, but they were hoping for the second round.
 
Maybe we can have a summit outdoor?? Temps at either indoor or outdoor should be similar. Lol

Really hoping for some indoors. Always a fun time. Breaks up the winter also.
 
Just hang some Trump signs and call it a political support group meeting. All political activity is exempt from the 10 people mass gathering order in the state.

The first round of Summit will not happen. The health department has the placed extreme sanctions on sporting events in Summit County, and gatherings that they deem unnecessary. They basically dont want us to hold it. There will be an official post from the summit crew.

I think we will schedule the February round, in the hopes that things change, but if they don’t we will move on to outdoor racing and see what happens next.

MOUNT MORRIS, Pa. --

One man was stabbed and 41 others were arrested during a melee at a motorcycle raceway in southwestern Pennsylvania, state police said.

People in the crowd at the High Point Raceway in Mount Morris began fighting around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to police reports. State police said it took as many as 65 troopers to break it up.

State police at Waynesburg said it was not clear what may have sparked the violence.

A telephone call to High Point Raceway seeking comment was not answered.

Those arrested ranged in age from 17 to 35, police said. Some were charged with underage drinking, while others were cited for drug violations, aggravated assault and arson. Most were released pending their scheduled hearings.

Edward Snyder, 32, of Kent, remained in fair condition with cuts and bruises to his head Sunday, Ruby Memorial Hospital nursing supervisor Ben Campbell said from Morgantown, W.Va.

Promoters said they'll likely ban alcohol at next year's AMA U.S. Motocross Championships after a melee early Sunday in which two men were assaulted and 41 others arrested. It took 22 on-site security officers and 65 state troopers about 4 hours to quell the disturbance that began about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the overnight camping area at the High Point Raceway in Greene County.



The problem started when a group of people attending the dirt motorcycle race "got a little bit out of hand," at the camp site, said Tim Cotter, a spokesman for the race's promoter, Racer Productions Inc., of Morgantown, W.Va. "It will be an alcohol-free event next year. That's probably the way we're leaning right now," Cotter said. "We certainly don't condone what went on here and it's a shame."



Nathan Tice, 24, of Newell, W.Va., and Edward Snyder of Kent, Ohio, were listed in fair condition Monday at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. Tice was stabbed, but police on Monday hadn't charged anyone in that attack. Mark Deshields, 22, of Fredericktown, was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly attacking Snyder, who suffered severe facial injuries, police said. Deshieids didn't have a telephone number listed in his name and could not be reached for comment Monday.



The national event has been held at the track for 26 years and about 3,000 people attended Saturday's practice runs leading to Sunday's race. Spectators pay a fee to attend and may camp overnight. Event organizers said they'll scrutinize the rules that apply to the overnight camping area and the use of alcoholic beverages at the facility before the track plays host to the event again. "You can still come out to an event and not bring a cooler of beer and still have a good time," said Pat Schutte, spokesman for the National Promoters Group.



The group organizes the American Motorcyclist Association's 12- event race series across the country. "If people are responsible with their alcohol consumption, there's never 'a problem," Schutte said. State police said that 32 of the 41 people arrested face charges of underage drinking. Most of the rest face drug or trespass charges. Those arrested were 17 to 35 years old; none of the participants were involved, police said. Advertising for the event noted that alcoholic drinks were allowed in the camping area. Cotter said the track's security force doesn't look for underage drinkers unless a disturbance results. "We sell them a ticket and they come in," Cotter said. "If we see someone unruly, we stop them and check their identification. If they have alcohol with them, we make them dump it out." Telephone calls to High Point Raceway were not answered Monday.
