Supercross 2022

Alright, lets toss a few fun SX facts out there in prep for this weekend.

Since the series started keeping points to determine a champ (1977):
Only 557 people have ever scored points in the premier class.

Ten state have zero riders: Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Montana, North and South Dakota, Vermont, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Of those, Donnie Hanson has the lowest career point total with 555 which ranks him 86th.

In career points, only five of the top 25 are still active:
Tomac is 8th, 41 points behind Larry Ward
Brayton is 11th, 13 behind Stewart
Roczen is 14th, 7 Behind Nick Wey
Anderson is 23rd, 43 behind Kiedrowski
and Barcia is 25th, 38 behind Tim Ferry

Now you can dominate trivia night at the track.
Where do you come up with all the time to do this crap?

80% of my daily job is statistical process control. Taking a little time to crunch some moto numbers is good for my brain.
In baseball they say "you are what the back of your baseball card says you are"
Numbers don't lie. Unless you only look at one group, then you can make them say whatever you want.

Only thing that slightly skews the number, especially for career point is the number of rounds per year.
For the first 15 years the numbers of rounds bounced around from 10 to 18 rounds. Around 1990 is where that kind of leveled off and the series still hits most of the same locations, with a few odd balls thrown in each year.
So the totals have a "possible" error rate of 4%. But the numbers shown are actual.

Guys like O'Mara, RJ, Glover, Hannah, Bomber all have a valid "what if" argument
But it didnt hurt Wardy very much, so it may be a moot point.

Didn't Logan get 10th OA last year? How could he only have one point ?

Jeremy Hand?

I like this side of you Knox. I actually read the entire thing of all the stat posts. I totally agree with the numbers don't lie. I'm a 1+1=2 guy myself. Way behind you on the stats stuff though I can see.

Makes me wonder for the ones that are still active and near the top, how high will they go before it's time to hang up the boots (i.e. ET, AP, etc.).

Also, what do the overall points in the premier class look like if we look at the last decade? It was absolutely a sport dominated by CA back in the day I would think. Still may be today, but I would figure not so far apart percentage wise.

Good stuff! I'm a fan!

Jeremy Hand?
Has Hand raced in the Premier (450) class and got a point?

Congrats on your SX points ----
What makes you run "C" class at Vet Fest ??????

yes, top class only none of the east west crap.

Location is determined by the vault. Guys like Demuth who lived here then moved to TX only count for the location identified in the vault. For him it is Texas
