'24 Loretta Lynns

Yes, the racing on Sunday was great and track was in great condition based on the rain and MUD that people had to deal with on Saturday. I was practice 6 and 9 and Motos 2 and 18 (of 19) on Sunday and never even had to spray off my bike all day. A wet paper towel was all it took to wipe off my front Number plate and race all day long. And yes there were ruts galore again, but they basically did a whole redo of the track at intermission and second motos was easier to navigate the track as the ruts were not as deep or prevalent in the second motos. Great day of racing and great job from the Briarcliff crew!

First race in 4 years for me after my last race ended in a Life Flight from Loretta Lynn's in 2020 during Covid. Not a great experience for that situation after sustaining an open book pelvic fracture on the track in the final +50 Moto at Loretta's. Back on the bike again for the 4th time this year and decided to do BC Area and Red Bud Regional because my nephew from Orlando is racing them and up for the week between AQ's at Pleasure Valley and Briarcliff. I love Red Bud (my favorite track along with Defunct Scenic Highlands) so the chance to race a regional event there again with my nephew and help him out was enough to draw me back in. Somehow I need to ride enough to stop the dreaded arm pump that I'm getting right now, but we will see, I'm here for the fun of it all now, and have put in my time and effort over the years. Ordering parts this morning as my bike is a 2017 and in need of some love, so I guess I'm back.

Will I get sucked into 2024 Loretta Lynn's if I make it through the regional??? Probably not, but if my nephew makes it and is racing down there again, I might entertain the idea of doing it one more time. I don't want the track to have the last laugh!

BC was slammed with talent in all classes.

Duff, ripper. Didn't know that was him till my way home! And I missed Seth Dennis's motos, he is one I haven't got to see ride in person yet.

Fauser on a big bike... Yeow.. Look out, dude put a CLINIC on the first moto of pro sport. Wire to wire.

Big Props to the BC crew on that one. From what looked like a near washout Saturday, the Sundays event went off without missing a tick.

Youre an animal. Skimmed the results this morning. Sharc, jones, you, weber, all throwing down some solid results! I wanted to do some areas just to ride regionals for fun but with softball it just wasn't in the cards. Plan on hitting some fun stuff after this month. Goodluck at red bud!

Nice to meet you at the track! Thank you for saying hello at the gate!

Seemed like a really good turnout. JO is out there fixing the parking lot after Saturdays rains lol rain never fails there I think bcliff for areas is like chillitown all the time

High Point regional was one to remember. A dry hard packed track, a muddy track, and a ton of drama for the 125 C class.

Seeing and feeling the emotions of the weekend are why these races bring so much to the table. They make or break it for the amateur dirt bike racer.

I had fomo watching all the stuff on insta and the live results. Until i seen oplingers muddy pics lol.

Good riding buddy! Its never easy over there! Some good rides for a few of our locals! Weber doing well in both 25 and 30, whitcraft making his first trip in +40, chris oplinger securing his spot at the ranch, saw a Carrollton boy win a couple C clases and a few others from medina, ravenna, oak Hill, and jefferson doing well. Reece Wheaton is nutty and did great.

My last regional there was the same story weather wise, but it kept going all day Sunday. A wet high point will really reach up and get ya!

Short story long.

Saturday night it downpours rain for a good couple hours. Track is bombed Sunday morning, like standing water and no scraping of the muck whatsoever. They launch 125 C first moto, its a full blown s**t show. The race took over 40 mins. Riders are cutting the track to get anywhere they can, some people are getting outside help, some are not and thats a big no-no. The utility quads couldn't even get to the riders on the track to get them unstuck. Parents are steaming more than the bikes at this point and heading over to the race tower.

Someone gets on the radiowaves and says they may drop the moto or re-run it, no executive decision at this point, they will "Let people know later in the program." Some are happy, some are sad, of course can't please everyone. Turns into a final decision of the moto will stand as it was ran... LOL! neither option they told the people before. That's when you see the trucks start pulling out they had enough and I didn't blame them.

Saw a fist fight vid on track. Any details there? Almost looked older vet class. One dude had a bigger gut than me. Lol
That was awesome! Pretty sure it was a B class moto.

First guy we will call him (bear) he was pry 260 and full beard. Second guy is little (scrawny).

Bear crashes in the corner, scrawny runs directly into him. Bear is down under his bike. Scrawny attempts to then runover bears bike, this attempt fails. scrawny results into a wheelie and hits his front wheel off the back of bears helmet.

Bear turns around and clocks him. It was awesome! Meanwhile, these two are going at it for a good minute or two until the track official (who may have ran hurdles in high school) comes highstepping across the entire starting line to then grab scrawny by the back of the chest protector and toss him like a sack of potatoes.

Bear pulls off, revs the crowd. People's champ for sure! Scrawny continues the moto and gets black flagged.

Good luck to everyone !!!! I’m trying to qualify at Mx acres today . Hahahaha I made top 7 drinking last night so I should be good to go today
