W.T.M. - Weekly updates

BC was on point...track changes by the pond flowed much better than the previous changes.
Little dusty at times but JO put down some water 2 or 3x.
Good sized turnout - Constant stream of riders in both A/B and C groups

Saw quite a few PR regulars...MX955, A Toth, Jon16, Lotts +++
Great seeing you Mark!

BC was fun, JO served up another awesome track

Went to OIR as always track was super sick. Gnarly rough with breaking bumps just makes for good training and testing suspension. Place was packed by far probably the most packed place this weekend. Rolled in about 10 and place was already packed in. I like how they did sessions with A,B,C, and minis. Was a good time and glad I made it up. Only negative was getting absolutely destroyed by a boulder to the shoulder/ arm. Saw it coming and just knew it was going to hurt had a nice ole bruise. Super fun day and nice riding with fast company
There were definitely some monsters out there lol. First prep of the year probably happened yesterday morning tho so limited time to pick them. Track was great for training when it wasnt icy. Ruts were knarly in some corners and some crazy braking bumps. Dont think ive ever seen that consistency of bumps before. Was pretty awesome.

My only "complaint" with the main track was watering jump faces and hard packed areas excessively, even sometimes while we were on the track, creating a full on ice skate for about 20 minutes after each water. Felt like russian roulette. Lol. Water truck even crossed the track during a live practice in what used to be the first turn. I was coming down the hill before almost to the corner n was like wtf. Lol. It wasnt even that dusty and im down for some dust the last day of June. If we water, gotta disc.

Second "bitch" is all the jack wagons on pit bikes on the kids track. They gotta get a better handle on that. Needs to be under 18 and if it gets busy they need 50/65 and 85/110 sessions. There was even a new kid on a yz125 out there. Recently read about that exact scenario unfolding in extreme tragedy in another state. Its a super fun track for the kids but something bads gonna happen. Would hate to see that on their plate.

Tale of 2 rides ( a somewhat short story)

July 4th, decided to visit a track about 30 mins basically E of Newark.
In a video, showing the soil, the owner states how the prior evening's rains "greatly helped them"
So I'm thinking, as this facility is normally under-watered, maybe it will be good.
Ha! He must have been at the highest point of the property. After walking around a bit and watching
the riders negotiate the axle-deep slop in the lower sections. I loaded back up, got my money back and went back home.
I'm sure some people that went had a fantastic time. Good for them. But it wasn't the conditions I wanted to ride.
Shame on you Mr Track Owner. Next time, Be Honest. The track is back on my Do Not Ride list.

Yesterday, made the 3hr trek to Twisted MX in Milan Michigan.
Wanted to get some sand time in before Vet Fest.
What a fun little semi-sandy track. Wasn't deep, had good flow, fun jumps (1 bigger double I didn't do), variety of long and short turns.
They run 4 groups, 15mins each. Watering is ongoing throughout the day. Good time and worth the drive.
SuperCoop is just done the road...

Yes i agree something has to be done with the adults on pee wee track. Its actually ridiculous having them fly around these 50 riders trying to learn. Scares them little kids

See I’m not a big twisted guy.

But I do love going up to supercoop and absolutely getting my teeth kicking in.

It’s like I’ve never ridden a dirt bike before.

Michigan is unbeatable in the track department. I love that place.

Trying to line up a Michigan trails and track trip this fall. Supercoop, Baja Acres and some of the different trail systems on the off days!

Just a heads up he did do track work on the sections that riders asked for.

I rode for about 45 mins after doing photos at the end of the day. I got around good for my slow butt lol.

I rode lightning on Saturday, and then Battlesburg on Sunday.

Grears 4th of July photos

Battlesburg Sunday photos

Never even heard of lightning where’s that even at didn’t know it existed
It’s a little drop your money in the mailbox type place. Race’s CRA been around forever.

Used to race there all the time when I was a kid, not far at all from beans and crow.

It’s usually never prepped. Rock hard dirt.

Notorious for nasty harescrambles.

cra is still around ? Thought it disappeared

Fun safe little moto track, prep is few and far between, logan has rode there twice, I rode there once. I had fun in the woods too.
Trails every where, a big turn track, a grass track.
Stop by the mail box, sign your name drop 10 bucks in and go ride all day.

Lightning Raceway vintage woods and grass moto race photos
Lightning also does a great Trial event, His loop is like a hard trail ride. Totally awesome and easy on a trials bike

Supercoop tomorrow and BC Sunday
Supercoop yesterday sucked out every shred of confidence I had and BC filled it back up today!

SC opens at 10am. My buddy told me to be there before then to do laps on a fresh track. Next time
It's deep sand. TwistedMX just down the road has a clay base with sand, somewhat like Red Bud. Let me say again this is deep sand!
Sign-in is done inside the trailer vs staying in your car
You can run a knobby on the back but you'll be happier with a scoop
They have flaggers on the jumps as well as a yellow light system like they use in pro SX
They also have a lake and one of the coolest sand tracks for the kids
I'd guess by 1pm the place was half empty.

BC had a very good turnout today
As expected, there were a large number of quad riders there in advance of the upcoming national race in 2 weeks
In light of that the track was still really good for bikes.
JO added a couple of split lanes with corner berms where you can stand all the way around on either the inside or outside lane.
Also, a couple of jumps were built up which made them flow a bit better. The wall along the treeline was also bigger.
Dust wasn't an issue as he did multiple waterings

Moto in Ohio isn't dead!

the ctown classic was a blast. Moto track was good all weekend super rough and rutted but obviously a safe version and never got unsafe. I rode pro am for the first time which was a constant learning experience and know what I need to work on moving forward. Race pro supercross on Saturday was one spot out of the money with some heavy hitters in front of me. Track was a little slick but honestly had a ton of fun on it and it was cool last lap or two had fireworks going off. Then Moto came around was able to lead some laps in collegeboy and go 2-2 and in open pro made some mistakes early which are huge in that class but still was faster everytime I touched the track and got faster as it got rougher. Came away with some points towards my card and ready to go again
