Understand what you’re saying but sometimes these events can be a huge benefit to the track. Adding those additional classes is a huge money maker. It’s no small feat to put on an event like that. If the track added an additional 150 riders and 400 extra spectators plus camping fees etc that could be huge for the track. Or it might help them break even.

And you need to think about the turnout of the vet riders. Some might not show up for weather reasons or maybe they qualified in another area. So there is a potential of people not showing up. You need to account for that. If you normally get 30 riders to a vet class… you might get 20 for various reasons. You need to create a buffer and that’s what support classes do.
 
MX sport needs to fix one thing in the qualifying process. Only 40 riders to the regional. Period. Alternates can be there, but only 40 race. I think it's total BS that you have an area qualifying process and they have two gates and a LCQ at a Regional qualifier. Total BS and just added revenue to MX Sports. When you get to the regional it should be 40 guys, period.
 
Covid vet regionals were my favorite.

So much seat time. Done by 2pm on Sunday.

not as profitable as tons of classes and gate drops 7 minutes before dark on Sundays tho.
 
Thing is those extra classes didn’t have but maybe 15 entries like cmon. There’s local racing for a reason and national
 
It’s just tough. And the guys that are fast there are unreal.

It was BC of '22 the vet regional there I was recalling. Track was licked rough and 15 min. motos!

I still don’t get why they don’t line up for moto 3 despite trying in multiple regions.

Just crush their soul and let the power ranking process do what it was designed to do.

Agree. What is the point if an aq, if everyone can show up to the regional.
 
I know it’s a money grab, but also On the other side it makes the racing all the more competitive. There’s demand for the gates. The gates are full. Even if you can’t possibly make it the experience and intensity you get from these races is truly unmatched. You can’t get it anywhere else and only 3 times a year if you try in 3 regions….

You got two guys with a 1 tally going into moto 2.

A 6-6-6 can’t even guarantee you being in most of the time. That’s absolute sick competition.

I HATE regionals as a parent. I've never seen more B riders in my lifetime ride like absolutely total idiots on lap one like they do at a regional. I think Matthew has been literally taken out two or three times lap one by some freaking Club MX or GTP idiot on lap one. Do they not realize if your on the ground on lap one, your done?

That’s why I liked the vet regionals. They weren’t sprints.
