You passed me somewhere recently on my 450 and my ego needed that reality check.
What he said^ for 22 and newer. Get the needle 2-3 clip, head, 62 pilot, 165-8 main. We ran pro circuit pipe with stock silencer. The Yamaha 125 is a great bike. The KTM has had crank problems and EFI problems since they have come out.
If you get a Yamaha 125, get this kit from Europe. It's a game changer for the bike. Carb parts that ARE NOT AVAILABLE in the US. It is that frekin' good!!!
The GET ignition is also very, very good. I also got a vhm head with a head insert to run on C12. I can win on this bike on a hard pack track against 30 year olds on 450's. And I'm old!
PS I have old bikes and new bikes from a few old 125's to a new 450. My 2024 yz 125 is my favorite bike.
The new one definitely looks the part. From my experience easier to keep looking good than other brands.I think they've got the Bodywork hooked up on the little YZ ... nice fit, function, appearance .
Dave's bike looks to be a 1979. The other is my 1983 that I bought new.Is 954 a 79 ?
The other one ?? - mid eighties?
Yea that’s why I just never sell mine. Throw a blanket over it.mines also a 2006 yz 125Man I get this disease every few years where I want to get another YZ125….
Or a better insurance plan. Maybe AARP for those older guys lolI really want to check lap times back to back on different bikes.
I highly doubt my lap times change that much 125 to 450.
Pape smoked local vets on a 125 for years.
$6.5k YZ125 vs $12k works edition 450. Pfff.
$5,500 - I could better spend on tires, riding lessons and a gym membership.
