2015 By the numbers

I know one guy that him and his two boys seem to race only fair races and nothing else. That is a total waste of time and money in my opinion.

Now here are some numbers to think about.
In 6 days this tread has over 160 replies and over 4300 views. WOW
But you go to a race and people say they don't know about PitRacer? LIARS...

Jump in the pool, the water is warm...

The CRA doesn't need any help on imploding, they have done that just fine by themselves. A perfect example is the Skyview MX race this weekend. A few people came on Pitracer expressing interest in racing this weekend but there was little-to-no info available regarding this CRA track. It was not until word got back to them of being discussed on PR that they hurried up and joined to post photos of their track and tell everybody about it. Promotion at its finest. THIS is way the CRA has spiraled down for the past few years.

Tim, we started racing about the same time your kid did in the late 90's and hit all of the CRA tracks. It was the same old bullcrap year after year, and it got me pretty excited when it was announced that the OMA was being formed.

I just don't get you guys, first you complain that the OMA tracks aren't bringing in enough riders, then you say you want more "home town" events with fewer riders for the newbies. You can have plenty of both with what the OMA offers. If you guys don't like it, just turn the channel. I'm getting so tired of hearing it, change doesn't come overnight. FYI, if the OMA is not your cup of tea and you don't want any part of it, you might just end up out in the cold...

FYI: we race OMA, CRA and AMA
Unfortunately CRA is a joke. They are way behind the ball on almost all things having to do with offroad sports. Try looking for info on their website.... its a blast. Regardless, there are plenty of us guys who still race their events. Personally I race CRA because they are local. I can count at least 6 of their tracks within an hour of my house. For me to travel to the closest OMA race it is 2 1/2 hours. If the CRA were to dissolve I would hope that there would be another organization ready to step in. At this point, it doesnt look like that will happen. There are a few tracks in this area that are exceptional and deserve better than what they are getting I think.

Tyler if you don't mind me asking what CRA tracks are close?

The thing is you wanted information and then when it's given, that's not good enough! I am thrilled another CRA promoter has used pitracer as a tool to advertise for themselves and promote their event so why bash them for coming on here!?! Come on guys. As far as CRA imploding take a look at the HS numbers each weekend. They are drawing awesome turnouts! Maybe that's what riders are looking for more at this time? I know GNCC racing is huge right now so maybe that's the trend now. MX may have declined but when you spread the rider base so thin every weekend with too many choices it's going to affect everyone in the long run. Running big events prove to be big turnouts but it's really hard as a promoter to put all your eggs into that one basket with weather, other organizations, practices,etc.....We love this sport and will always support it but it's a very scary time right now with what is going on. With everyone not working together and against one another it's just not working. Looking at numbers, I found some old score sheets from our OIR days. It was our sons first race in the beginner peewee class. He finished 25th out of 27! That race we had 125 peewees on our peewee track! This was the growing of the sport and many of these same kids ride still today. Unfortunately, you do not see these numbers anymore and you have to wonder what the future will look like for these young and up and coming riders, but that's another topic.....

Too many tracks running too close together. For example in the SWOHMX series. East Fork MX opened up. Nice track, Plessinger is doing a nice job there. But it is probably 15 miles from Dirt Country. I know there were some people that normally would have raced DC, but went to East Fork to practice instead. So, had east fork not practiced, could DC pulled another 10, 15 or 20 riders which equates to more entries because many people run multiple classes? Out of courtesy East Fork should not have practiced that Sunday. But the tracks dont care.

But the thing is - they only came to Pitracer to advertise AFTER they were being pounded on here for the lack of information. If it hadn't been discussed the only promotion they would have had was a spot on the CRA schedule. The sad thing is, we went to their first MX race and liked the track. I believe we will be there on Sunday as well. The CRA is not trying to be better. Another example: You want to race CRA but would like to know the rules, you go to their website to find the rule book, and all that is offered is a rule book from 2012. I know for a fact that some of the rules have changed since then. Not too hard to get a scan of the latest rule book posted on line is it?

As far as harescrambles, they do well. That is what the CRA was originally founded on, and they are pretty much the only game in town locally. I believe everything is fine there. This is strictly the MX scene we are discussing.

Here a number, 9 pages and no solutions.

It's funny how many on here complained they don't get enough track time. Well this weekend Hand Racing put on a race that offered just that. My son got two practices (5 and 4 laps) and raced 3 class. They raced 4 laps with lap times around 3:30. It was a great time and we were heading home by 1:30. By the way it was a CRA event.

Now where was everybody who comes on here and complains they don't get enough time to ride. Nowhere to be found. I guess they would rather go ride practice than support a local race. It's not the promoters that are killing motocross, it's the riders themselves.

The Hands and Trevor come on here all the time so quit lumping everybody into one.

I was out on a date night planned before the event was announced, if I were able to get more than 2 hours sleep I would have been there!

Instead I got up at 10 am instead of 5 am and went riding at Beans!

For OMA, I'd have to ask the attorney. I thought he settled on c3. I don't know the difference between each, that's why he gets the big bucks. BC is for profit.
JO so if OMA a c3 is the tax return online somewhere or do you need to send me a copy? In a 501 c3 its public info. All the non proffitts ive been involved with has had a board of directors, pres,vp,sec,& treasure, who might these people be?

Fair enough - Salem Motorcycle Club is who I was speaking of. These are the people that run Skyview, and just happen to run the CRA as well.

No problems at all with Hands and Trevor.

I know it's been said on here before but you get a $10 Rocky Mountain gift card with your oma membership. So it's $15. Jesus, if $15 breaks you then you shouldn't be racing anyway.
