Vintage Motorcycle Days 2016: In the books!

Oh, well shoot..... That explains it all.. Haha!

A good rider on a Maico, CZ and the occasional rocket Harley Davidson certainly pose a threat to a racer when your lined up on the gate. You learn not to underestimate, and to respect them.

Before I forget it, a big "Thank You and Hat's Off" to the Log Road crew and all of the AMA personnel and all volunteers that helped out over the weekend.
Fridays Hare Scramble course, and the motocross tracks, both Saturday and Sunday were fantastically fun and challenging. A great job by all involved.

Ben has yet to beat that kid on the Maico. Those two are as equally matched as can be. I'd love to see them switch bikes and see what happens because the bike is probably the difference between them. It was an absolute pleasure to watch their races.

The ongoing rivalry races, really examples the essence what this sport is all about I think.
We may be racing for the 12th place finish, but if it's a good handlebar to handlebar battle that last for a couple of laps or more, it's downright exciting and exhilarating!

I've had several really fun races against some of our Pitracer regulars over the years. I look forward to them now, and they stick in my mind for a long time. Even Nancy looks forward to our match-ups again. We'll be at home watching the video's that she shot and you here her shouting GO,GO GO!

Shoot me an email with your name and contact information and I'll send it over to Kip Bigelow, Motocross Manager. ahunter@ama-cycle.org

Results and Photo gallery should be up soon... Yesterday it was a ghost town in the office. We should be getting that stuff up today.
Is it up yet, Alex? If so, can you attach a link? Thanks!

Mid ohio Vintage days never disappoints. I had no intentions of racing anything this weekend besides the pit bike race. Drove by Mike Babets Rm 250 one too many times though and made a last minute purchase. Didn't do very well as far as my results go but I still had a blast.

Hey Vet261, wouldn't want to sell those forks would ya? lol

If it makes you feel any better, Mike, the Harley was newer than a '74. It was a '77 or '78 :)

By chance , what number is on the Maico ? A buddy " sponsored " two riders on his Maicos and I was wondering if this might be one of his ?

Welcome to the disabled list! Hope you are getting along fine and recover quick! I went to my ortho guy last Wednesday he looked at X-rays and said " man that's blown up!" Got me in to a shoulder specialist out of Grant, going under the knife tomorrow!

Ooooooohh!

I was wondering about ya, since I didn't get to see you.
What a bummer. Since I'm only on the other side of town from you, let me know if you need anything. ( I'll even come over and ride all of your Maico's on your track for you so the carbs won't gum up, haha. )

I didn't see your wreck, but seeing how slowly you were getting up, we just knew it had to be nasty and intense.
Give yourself plenty of time to heal up, next season isn't that far away.

Next season! I still hope to make it back this year! Maybe! Going to keep working out with everything but this shoulder, so maybe will workout? Dr says I should be ready to ref my hs football games and that's only 5-6 weeks away!

Number 9. Monte is the kid's name. I met the guy briefly that owns the bike, nice guy, absolutely beautiful bike. Our MX360 is pretty competitive for what it is, I'm happy with it but I think there may be a little still left in it. I have a few ideas so hopefully we can have something for Monte next year. Both motos were just a blast to watch. My son just loves riding and racing the 360.
